Bitter, dry and delicious. This classic 1920s New York cocktail is a Negroni-style sipper that’s sure to start your evening off right.

Ingredients

1 ounce Rittenhouse
Straight Rye Whisky
1 ounce Dry Vermouth
1 ounce Campari^®
1 Lemon Twist (Garnish)

Bartender's Notes

Combine ingredients in an ice filled mixing glass. Stir contents and strain into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon twist.

I draw inspiration for creating new cocktails from three arenas: history, culinary and pop culture. I am a huge history buff and I love to delve into where the spirit originated. I also consider myself an amateur chef and I love gardening, so I look for ways to bring unique herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables into a cocktail. I also tell people to look to pop culture because flavor can come from sound and sight. What’s your favorite song, movie or designer? The cocktail that launched my career was called ‘London Calling,’ inspired by my favorite rock band The Clash.
